ANALYSIS: Arizona drafted a
boom-or-bust player with Robert Nkemdiche. He is a tremendous talent on the
field, with ability to take over games. Off the field, not so much. He is in
the right locker room to keep him straight. Brandon Williams is a former running
back turned corner who had no business being drafted. Evan Boehm has eventual
starter potential and can back up all three interior line spots. The same can
be said for Cole Toner, who can back up both guard and tackle spots. Harlan
Miller is a long lean corner who will probably have more pro success than
Brandon Williams. The Cardinals draft ranked #21 in the league this year
according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: The NFL returns to
Hollywood this fall and the Rams made a splash before the draft. They gave up
multiple picks over this year and next to select the guy they hope is their
franchise QB. Jared Goff has elite arm strength, but he needs to add some core
size to sustain an NFL beating. I took Tyler Higbee out of draftable range
after his arrest a few weeks before the draft. Higbee allegedly beat a man unconscious
outside of a bar. On the field, he has the talent to stretch the field, but he
has an injury history and too many character red flags for me to get behind.
Pharoh Cooper is the exact opposite. He is a model citizen. On the field, he is
quicker than fast and dynamite with the ball in his hands. Mike Thomas is tremendous
at high pointing the football and can be an asset in the red zone. Paul
McRoberts and Nelson Spruce both will be in contention for back of the
roster/practice squad spots. If the off field troubles continue to impact Tre
Mason, Aaron Green has a shot to make the 53. The Rams draft ranked #16 in the
league this year according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: San Francisco drafted
Oregon pass rusher Deforest Buckner to pair him with last year’s 1st
round pick (and former college teammate) Arik Armstead. They traded multiple
picks to move back into the first round to draft Joshua Garnett. They likely could
have stayed where they were and got him then. Will Redmond had first round
talent before an injury took him out. Rashard Robinson hasn’t played football
since 2014. He is raw, but has the tools. He probably needs to eat a little bit
more too. Jeff Driskel could have some success in the Chip Kelly offense. Aaron
Burbridge is a physical wide receiver that can find success. John Theus is
likely a backup tackle. Devon Cajuste should be able to find his way onto the
roster. The 49ers draft ranked #24 in the league this year according to the DFD
value board.

ANALYSIS: Seattle had the best draft
I can remember them having in the 5 years DFD has been up and running. Germain
Ifedi should compete to start at right tackle from day one. Jarran Reed should
help offset some of the losses from free agency the defensive line has taken,
C.J. Prosise and Alex Collins should combine to help offset the loss brought
upon by the retirement of Marshawn Lynch. Nick Vannett is an upgrade over Luke
Willson as the blocking half of their TE duo. He can also stretch the field a
little. I really like the Kenny Lawler pick in the 7th round. He can
be a go-to-guy in the near future. Trevone Boykin and Vernon Adams were both brought
in to compete for the #3 QB spot. I expect a veteran to be brought in to be the
backup. The Seahawks draft ranked #9 in the league this year according to the
DFD value board.
