Week in Review: Week 5

WEEK IN REVIEW
WEEK FIVE

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH
STANFORD @ WASHINGTON 8PM ESPN

STANFORD:
SHAYNE SKOV (#11) SR ILB 6-3 244
STATS: 7 tackles

CHASE THOMAS (#44) SR OLB 6-4 240
STATS: 4 tackles 1 sack

WASHINGTON:
KEITH PRICE (#17) JR QB 6-1 195
STATS: 19/37 177 yards 1 td 1 int
NOTES: The Huskies OL is so bad right now, Price never had a chance. The two games I have watched, I can’t really draw any conclusions on where he is as a pro prospect. I will say this; it probably would not be in his best interest to declare for the draft after this season.

AUSTIN SEFARIEN-JENKINS (#88) SO TE 6-6 258
STATS: 2 rec 10 yards

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29TH

MINNESOTA @ IOWA 11AM ESPN2

MINNESOTA:
TROY STOUDERMIRE (#2) SR CB 5-9 196
STATS: 6 tackles

D.L. WILHITE (#95) SR DE 6-3 245
STATS: 1 tackle

IOWA:
KEENAN DAVIS (#6) SR WR 6-2 215
STATS: 6 rec 50 yards
NC STATE @ MIAMI (FL) 11AM ESPNU

NC STATE:
STERLING LUCAS (#7) SR ILB 6-2 238
STATS: 4 tackles 1 int
NOTES: Lucas is good in zone coverage, but he doesn’t make the plays in space you would like to see. He doesn’t get through traffic well. He also only plays about 60% of snaps. Fringe prospect…

BRIAN SLAY (#55) SR DT 6-3 290
STATS: 2 tackles 1 pbu

MIAMI (FL):
MIKE JAMES (#5) SR RB 5-11 222
STATS: 13 att 39 yards; 3 rec 53 yards

TENNESSEE @ GEORGIA 2:30PM CBS

TENNESSEE:
TYLER BRAY (#8) JR QB 6-5 210
STATS: 24/45 281 yards 2 td 3 int
NOTES: Bray has no consistency whatsoever. He has all the physical tools that pro scouts dream of, but his footwork and overall decision making leave a lot to be desired. Some team will gamble on him, but as of today, I can’t put higher than a 2nd day grade on him.

MYCHAL RIVERA (#87) SR TE 6-3 254
STATS: 3 rec 82 yards
NOTES: I didn’t realize Rivera could stretch the field the way he did Saturday. I like what I see from him, and will promptly move him up our TE rankings.

GEORGIA:
JOHNATHAN JENKINS (#6) SR DT 6-3 351
STATS: 1 tackle 1 fr

KWAME GEATHERS (#99) JR DT 6-5 355
STATS: 3 tackles 2 tfl

SOUTH CAROLINA @ KENTUCKY 6PM ESPN2

SOUTH CAROLINA:
DAMARIO JEFFREY (#33) SR OLB 6-4 233
STATS: 1 tackle

SHAQ WILSON (#54) SR ILB 5-11 224
STATS: 1 pbu
NOTES: This was the worse game I have seen from Wilson this season. On that note, it was the worst game of the year I have seen from the entire Gamecocks LB squad. I will consider this an aberration, and will get a better look this week against Georgia.

KENTUCKY:
LARRY WARFORD (#67) SR OG 6-3 336
NOTES: Warford is very aggressive and very strong. He does a good job getting to the second level. On multiple plays, he wiped out two South Carolina interior defenders. He is very sound pulling. One of the better guard prospects available.

TEXAS @ OKLAHOMA STATE 6:50PM FOX

TEXAS:
JACKSON JEFFCOAT (#44) JR DE 6-4 250
STATS: 7 tackles 4 tfl 1 sack 1 ff

ALEX OKAFOR (#80) SR DE 6-4 260
STATS: 6 tackles 1 sack

OKLAHOMA STATE:
JOSEPH RANDLE (#1) JR RB 6-0 192
STATS: 25 att 199 yards 2 td; 2 rec 12 yards
NOTES: Randle is very explosive getting to the edge. He also shows an ability to break tackles in the open field. I would ideally like to see him run between the tackles a little more. I would also like to see him more involved in the pass game. His stock is rising in my opinion, however.

MISSISSIPPI @ ALABAMA 8:15PM ESPN

MISSISSIPPI:
A.J. HAWKINS (#76) SR OG 6-3 313
NOTES: Hawkins seems to lack a mean streak, and he is kind of lethargic getting off the ball. I see nothing special.

ALABAMA:
JESSE WILLIAMS (#54) SR DT 6-3 320
STATS: 2 tackles 1 pbu
NOTES: Williams is one of, if not the strongest player in the country. He reportedly benched 600 pounds in the off season, and allegedly said he could do more. He is also a great athlete at the nose tackle position. I think he could play over the guard in a 4-3 defense , as well as the nose in a 3-4.

DAMION SQUARE (#92) SR DE 6-3 285
STATS: 2 tackles 0.5 sacks
