Tyson Chandler           OT   NC State                               Sr  6'7   331

Analysis: The Bills were without their first round pick after dealing it a year ago to draft Sammy Watkins. The Bills obviously visited Tallahassee a lot this off-season with the drafting of three Seminoles. I really like the selection of Ronald Darby. I feel Darby is an excellent corner, with first round talent. I feel like they reached a little with John Miller, but he is position versatile. Karlos Williams is a physical back, catches the ball well, and has some athleticism after converting from safety. Nick O’ Leary is more of an H-back type than a true tight end. He catches the ball well, but he may have trouble separating from defenders. Dezmin Lewis could be the surprise of their draft class. He is a big and physical wide out, with good speed and great hands. Cedric Reed and Andrew Hudson have pass rush ability, and both could make the squad.

Christion Jones              WR     Alabama                  Sr  5'10    182

ANALYSIS:  Miami needed weapons on offense, and Devante Parker was one of the best of those in the draft. Jordan Phillips is a penetrating defensive tackle, with solid pass rush skills. Jamil Douglas is a lineman capable of backing up/spot-starting at multiple positions. I love the selection of Jay Ajayi in the 5th round. Ajayi fell because of concerns over a knee injury he suffered in 2012. Tony Lippett was drafted as a corner after spending most of his career as a wide receiver. Special teams will be his ticket. The same can be said for Bobby McCain and Cedric Thompson, neither of whom I had draftable grades on. Jeff Luc, Mike Hull, and Zach Vigil should all compete for a backup linebacker spot(s). The same for Aundray Walker and Mickey Baucus competing for a backup line spot(s).

ANALYSIS: The Patriots for the second straight year had what I considered to be one of the worst overall drafts. No pick was worse than second round selection Jordan Richards, who I did not have a draft worthy grade on. It wasn’t all completely terrible. I liked the selection of Malcom Brown in round one. He has a similar skill set to Vince Wilfolk, who he is likely replacing. I like the pass rush upside of Geneo Grissom. Matt Wells and Daryl Roberts were both undrafted free agent types, who can play special teams that the Patriots didn’t want to wait on. I like the value of Trey Flowers. Shaq Mason and Tre Jackson are both solid role players for the offensive line, with Mason having some upside. They also drafted a long snapper with a two-year Navy commitment.

Durell Eskridge            DS    Syracuse                         Jr   6'3   208

ANALYSIS: The Jets went with the tried and true best player available strategy and the results were very good. Even though it isn’t a current position of need, the Jets selected the defensive tackle Leonard Williams, who was the best defensive player in the draft. Devin Smith was one of the top deep ball trackers of any receiver in the draft. Lorenzo Mauldin is a very good edge rusher, who played standing up a lot better at the Senior Bowl than I thought he would. Bryce Petty has some work to do, but he could compete for the #2 QB spot this year, with a chance to possibly start down the road. Undrafted tight end Wes Saxton has a chance to make the team as the 3rd TE.

ANALYSIS: The Ravens needed to replace the deep threat they lost in Torrey Smith. They drafted Breshad Perriman in round one to do that, but Perriman has some very inconsistent hands. They traded ahead of Pittsburgh in round two to draft Maxx Williams, who was the best tight end in the draft. Carl Davis is a tremendous penetrator at defensive tackle and was great value in the third round. Buck Allen will provide a nice compliment to Justin Forsett in the Baltimore backfield. Tray Walker and Robert Myers were both over drafted. I like what Nick Boyle and Darren Waller can bring the Ravens in terms of depth. Look for Trey Depriest to make the team as a backup inside linebacker.

ANALYSIS: The Bengals continued with their draft for future not the now approach. Both of their starting offensive tackles (Andrew Whitworth and Andre Smith) are free agents after the 2015 season. Cedric Ogbuehi was considered a top ten talent before hurting his knee in Texas A&M’s bowl game. Jake Fisher is a very athletic tackle, capable of handling multiple positions (as is Ogbuehi). Tyler Kroft is a well rounded tight end, capable of setting the edge and stretching the field. Paul Dawson is an instinctive linebacker, who makes plays. He didn’t test well at all, but the Bengals had success with a LB just like that recently in Vontaze Burfict. Josh Shaw will likely start the season as the Bengals #5 corner and gunner on punt teams. Marcus Hardison can play all four spots on the defensive line. Derron Smith has the potential to start down the road. I love what Mario Alford brings to special teams. He is one of the fastest players I have scouted.

265     Darrian Miller                 OT        Kentucky               Sr   6'5    293

ANALYSIS: The Browns had one of the best drafts in my opinion. Danny Shelton is a mammoth nose tackle, who can penetrate on pass downs. I was a little surprised at the selection of Cam Erving. Erving is best suited at center, but the Browns already have an all-pro there in Alex Mack. Nate Orchard is a tremendous pass rusher, but struggles against the run. Duke Johnson is an upgrade over Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell. This isn’t taking away from those two backs. Malcolm Johnson, Randall Telfer, and UDFA E.J. Bibbs will likely compete to try to replace Jordan Cameron at tight end. 2 of 3 will likely make the team. Wazzu duo Xavier Cooper and Vince Mayle will provide depth at their respective positions. I love the Browns seventh round picks. I think Hayes Pullard was one of the best coverage LB’s in the draft. Ifo Ekpre-Olomu was likely a first round pick before tearing up his knee in bowl practice. He will likely “redshirt” this year, before returning in 2016 to compete for the #3 CB job. I think Rodman Noel has a chance to develop into a very good backup LB and core special teams player.

ANALYSIS: The Steelers stood pat and got the guy they wanted in Bud Dupree. Arizona tried desperately to trade ahead of them to get their hands on Dupree but to no avail. I didn’t get the selection of Senquez Golson. 5’8” corners usually don’t go in the second round anymore, and I don’t think he will be that successful. Sammie Coates is a big physical wide receiver, but has serious concentration issues. Jesse James is their tight end consolation prize for missing out on Maxx Williams in the 2nd round. Gerod Holliman is a rangy centerfield type who has very good ball skills. His tackling leaves something to be desired. B.J. Finney and Reese Dismukes are competing to see who can back up Maurkice Pouncey at center.

ANALYSIS: The only real problem I had with the Houston draft was the first round selection of Kevin Johnson. A lot of evaluators in the draft community loved Johnson; I just was not as high on him. Benardrick McKinney could be a starter really soon on the inside for their defense. Jaelen Strong is an underrated pass catcher. Christian Covington and Kenny Hilliard could both be solid rotation pieces. Of their undrafted players, I think Lynden Trail has the chance to make the biggest impact. If Jadeveon Clowney can’t come back 100% from his injury a year ago, this is especially true.

ANALYSIS: There was not a whole lot to like about the Colts draft. Phillip Dorsett in the first round was not only bad value, but it also wasn’t a need. Henry Anderson has the size and talent to eventually be a solid starter. D’Joun Smith is a solid corner prospect, who can compete for the nickel position right away. Josh Robinson will likely bounce the oft-injured for MSU Bulldog Vick Ballard off of the roster. The rest of their draft picks were big reaches. Bryan Bennett will likely earn a practice squad spot at QB and Jean Sifrin can have an impact as their #3/#4 TE. Tyler Varga is a very versatile talent, who should make the roster as the #4 RB and play all four special teams units.

ANALYSIS: The Jaguars had a very good draft, but unfortunately for them it went south quick. During the very first minicamp practice, top draft pick Dante Fowler, tore his ACL and will miss the season. Fowler was expected to be the answer to the pass rush problem the Jaguars have had for years. Hopefully he has a full and speedy recovery. T.J. Yeldon is a three down back with good vision, patience, and solid hands. A.J. Cann was our top rated guard prospect and should start from day one. Rashad Greene should pair very well with the receivers the Jags acquired a year ago and give Blake Bortles a reliable target. Michael Bennett was great value in the 6th round, and should provide a good rotation player and eventual starter. Undrafted corner Nick Marshall fits the mold of what Jacksonville looks for at the position. He is converting from QB, so he may need a year on the practice squad to transition.

ANALYSIS: The Titans got their franchise quarterback with Marcus Mariota. He may not be pro ready from day one, but he has a chance to be special. Doriel Green-Beckham was one of the most physically gifted wide receivers in the draft, but his off-field issues took him off many teams’ draft boards. Jeremiah Poutasi could be a solid starter at guard or could be a swing tackle at the next level. The Angelo Blackson selection left me scratching my head. It was the third worst value selection of the entire draft for me. What makes it worse is the fact that it was the top pick of day three, and I know they had to have to several offers to move back. They could have acquired more picks, and still got Blackson. Jalston Fowler and David Cobb should be fixtures in the Tennessee backfield for the next few years. It is probably bad news for last year’s DFD favorite Antonio Andrews. Tre McBride was tremendous value in the 7th round. He should contribute early this year. Cody Prewitt was one of the best players on my board that went undrafted. Quinton Spain and Josue Mathias could battle for a backup guard spot.

ANALYSIS: The Broncos traded ahead of Arizona to draft Shane Ray. Ray is an excellent pass rusher, but has some off-field (marijuana) issues. Ty Sambrailo could be a solid starter at tackle, but he needs time to develop his strength. Tight end Jeff Heuerman was selected to ease the free agency loss of Julius Thomas, but he suffered a knee injury during the Denver minicamp, and will miss the season. There were plenty of better center prospects on the board when they selected Max Garcia. Lorenzo Doss is a really good corner who should compete for time quickly. The rest of their picks were seemingly made by throwing darts at a dart board.

ANALYSIS: I really liked the selection of Marcus Peters in round one. Peters is excellent in press man and off coverage. He has great ball skills. Mitch Morse will likely play center for Kansas City, but was taken two rounds too high for my tastes. Chris Conley blew up the combine, and raised his draft stock much higher than his production would dictate. Steven nelson will compete for the nickel corner spot. Rakeem Nunez-Roches was one of the few bright spots on an otherwise inept Southern Miss football team. Look for him to move the line when Dontari Poe has to take a breather.

ANALYSIS: The first three rounds of the Oakland draft continued their positive momentum. The majority of the last four rounds was hot garbage. Amari Cooper was the best receiver in the draft. QB Derek Carr needed weapons, and he got one. Cooper can line up at all wide receiver spots and win at them all. Clive Walford can stretch the middle of the field and give Carr another set of reliable hands. Mario Edwards is a very scheme diverse defensive lineman. He is capable of holding up versus the run or lining up and getting after the quarterback. Max Valles probably would have benefitted greatly from another year in school, but he has pass rush ability. Ben Heeny, while drafted too high, can contribute as a backup linebacker, and a core special teamer. Look for undrafted free agents Josh Harper and Austin Hill to compete for backup receiver spots. Cody Fajardo is a perfect candidate for the #3 QB or a practice squad spot.

ANALYSIS: The Chargers didn’t have many picks. Melvin Gordan is an explosive game changing back that San Diego has been missing. Denzel Perryman is a downhill thumper that should improve the run defense from day one. Kyle Emanuel and Darius Philon can both contribute early in a reserve capacity. I didn’t understand the Craig Mager pick in round 3. Mager had a good Shrine Game by all reports, but pick number 83 is way too rich.
