Week 3: Week in Review

WEEK IN REVIEW
WEEK THREE

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH
CAL @ OHIO STATE 11AM ABC

CAL:
KEENAN ALLEN (#21) JR WR 6-3 205
Stats: 9 rec 80 yards
Notes: Allen is a huge target, with great speed. He also has value in the return game. He has great run after catch ability, and a wide catching radius.

ISI SOFELE (#20) SR RB 5-8 190
Stats: 21 att 86 yards
Notes: Sofele shows excellent speed around the edge, and has good balance. His size will limit what he can do between the tackles. As of right now, I do not have sufficient video to determine what he can do in the pass game (block/catch).

OHIO STATE:
JONATHAN HANKINS (#52) JR DT 6-3 335
Stats: 10 tackles 1 sack
Notes: Hankins dominated the Cal interior line. He is a physical specimen capable of taking over games. Right now he is easily in the top 15 range.

BRADLEY ROBY (#1) R-SO CB 5-11 185
Stats: 9 tck 2 tfl 1 sack 2 pbu
Notes: Excellent speed and a sure tackler. Showed great pass rush ability. He dropped an easy pick six opportunity. He looks good in zone and man to man.

WAKE FOREST @ FLORIDA STATE 11AM ESPN

WAKE FOREST:
TANNER PRICE (#10) JR QB 6-2 205
Stats: 8/22 82 yards
Notes: Price had no chance to do anything. His offensive line gave him no opportunity to look downfield, or even stand upright to see downfield. His evaluation is incomplete.

MICHAEL CAMPANARO (#3) JR WR 5-10 190
Stats: 2 rec 8 yards
Notes: Campanaro didn’t get too many opportunities, due to what I previously said about Price. His evaluation is incomplete.

FLORIDA STATE:
BJOERN WERNER (#95) JR DE 6-4 273
Stats: 4 tackles 2.5 tfl 1.5 sacks
Notes: Werner is a tremendous athlete, and his football ability is outstanding for a guy who has only played the game for 5 years. His upside is through the roof. A definite round one pick at this stage.

TANK CARRADINE (#91) SR DE 6-5 267
Stats: 3 tackles 2.5 sacks
Notes: How good was Brandon Jenkins? Carradine is a tremendous pass rusher and is only getting a starting opportunity because Jenkins got hurt. I hope he continues to flourish throughout the year. He could elevate himself as high as the late first round.

NORTH CAROLINA @ LOUISVILLE 2:30PM ESPN2

LOUISVILLE:
TEDDY BRIDGEWATER (#5) SO QB 6-3 210
Stats: 23/28 279 yards 3 td
Notes: If Teddy was eligible for the 2013 draft, I would be tempted to put him in the conversation at the top. He can make all the throws, has good accuracy, and nice athletic ability. I am anxious to see him further develop over the next two seasons.

MARIO BENEVIDES (#55) SR OC 6-4 302
Notes: He snaps the ball well in 3 phases (under center, pistol, and shotgun). He shows ok quickness on his pull blocks. He handled himself well in one-on-one blocks. He shows good strength at the point of attack.

NORTH CAROLINA:
SYLVESTER WILLIAMS (#92) SR DT 6-3 320
Stats: 2 tackles 1 tfl

KEVIN REDDICK (#48) SR ILB 6-2 240
Stats: 4 tackles 2 tfl 1 sack

TEXAS A&M @ SMU 2:30PM FSN

TEXAS A&M:
LUKE JOECKEL (#76) JR OT 6-6 310
JAKE MATHEWS (#75) JR OT 6-5 305

SMU:
MARGUS HUNT (#92) SR DE 6-7 288
Stats: 3 tackles 1 sack 1 blocked kick
Notes: Hunt was much more active in this game, than in the Baylor game. You can see the potential that everyone loves.

SOUTHERN CAL @ STANFORD 6:30PM FOX

SOUTHERN CAL:
TJ MCDONALD (#7) SR FS 6-2 205
Stats: 9 tackles

JAWANZA STARLING (#29) SR SS 6-1 195
