2014 NFL Scouting Combine

OFFENSIVE LINE GROUP ONE:
Fastest 40-yard dash: Joel Bitonio, OT, Nevada 4.91
Slowest 40-yard dash: Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama 5.53
Fastest 10-yard split: Joel Bitonio, OT, Nevada 1.68
Slowest 10-yard split: Cameron Fleming, OT, Stanford 1.91
Top Broad Jump: Joel Bitonio, OT, Nevada 9'6"
Top Bench Press (225 lb.): Russell Bodine, OC, North Carolina 42 reps
Notes: Alabama OT Cyrus Kouandjio really struggled in all of the drills. He showed really bad footwork, and really stiff hips. A report came out later, that many teams failed Kouanjio on his physical, due to chronic knee injuries. Joel Bitonio (OT/Nevada) was impressive with his footwork, and showed good transition. Zach Fulton (OG/Tennessee) also showed good quickness in the drills.
OFFENSIVE LINE GROUP TWO:
Fastest 40-yard dash: Tie 3 players 4.84
Slowest 40-yard dash: David Yankey, OG, Stanford 5.50
Fastest 10-yard split: Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn 1.68
Slowest 10-yard split: Jack Mewhort, OT, Ohio State 1.94
Top Broad Jump: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan 9'9"
Top Bench Press (225 lb.): Antonio Richardson, OT, Tennessee 36 reps
Notes: The top three rated offensive tackles in the 2014 NFL Draft really put on a show. Jake Matthews (Texas A&M), Greg Robinson (Auburn), and Taylor Lewan (Michigan) each showed tremendous athleticism in each drill. Robinson for a man his size (6'5" 332) showed excellent hip flexibility and tremendous footwork. LSU OG Trai Turner came up lame after his second 40-yard attempt. Morgan Moses (OT/Virginia) looked a little sluggish in the drills.
TIGHT END GROUP:
Fastest 40-yard dash: A.C. Leonard, Tennessee State 4.43
Slowest 40-yard dash: Jordan Navjar, Baylor 4.85
Top Broad Jump: A.C. Leonard, Tennessee State & Colt Lyerla, Oregon 10'8"
Top Bench Press (225 lb.): Joe Don Duncan, Dixie State 35 reps
Notes: DFD top TE prospect Austin Sefarien-Jenkins (Washington) sat out the workouts today, and may miss his pro day with a foot injury. Eric Ebron (North Carolina) after running a 4.50 40-yard dash, looked like he hurt his hamstring on his second attempt, and sat out the rest of the drills. Troy Niklas (Notre Dame) was said to only be 80% with an injury, so he didn't run the 40. He did participate in the field drills, however. Jace Amaro (Texas Tech) struggled with his hands today. I though Xavier Grimble (Southern Cal) looked very smooth coming out of his breaks. A.C. Leonard (Tennessee State) looked very smooth running the route tree. Anthony Denham (Utah) was not a guy on my radar at all, but he jumped out to me today. I will have to go back and watch more tape on him.
QUARTERBACKS GROUP ONE:
Fastest 40-yard dash: Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M 4.56
Slowest 40-yard dash: Jeff Mathews, Cornell 5.22
Top Vertical: David Fales, San Jose State 34.5"
Top Broad Jump: Blake Bortles, UCF 9'7"
Top 3-Cone Drill: Jordan Lynch, Northern Illinois 6.55
Notes: A.J. McCarron (Alabama) had a solid day throwing the football, but he and Jimmy Garoppolo (Eastern Illinois) both struggled throwing the 10-yard out. Teddy Bridgewater (Louisville), Derek Carr (Fresno State), and Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M) all sat out the throwing drills. I thought Blake Bortles (UCF) struggled throwing the deep passes, but was better on the short/intermediate routes. David Fales (San Jose State) was fairly accurate on all of his throws.
QUARTERBACKS GROUP TWO:
Fastest 40-yard dash: Connor Shaw, South Carolina 4.55
Slowest 40-yard dash: Dustin Vaughn, West Texas A&M 4.91
Top Vertical: Logan Thomas, Virginia Tech 35.5"
Top Broad Jump: Logan Thomas, Virginia Tech 9'10"
Top 3-Cone Drill: Logan Thomas, Virginia Tech 7.05
Notes: Logan Thomas (Virginia Tech) stays polarizing. At 6'6" tall and 248 pounds, he ran the 40 in 4.57 seconds, and tested higher than the other QB's in the explosion tests. He throws the ball with high velocity, and today he was accurate. He will likely be over-drafted based on his potential. I thought Connor Shaw (South Carolina) threw the ball really well today. He also ran a faster 40 time than I thought he would.
RUNNING BACK GROUP:
Fastest 40-yard dash: Dri Archer, Kent State 4.28
Slowest 40-yard dash: James Wilder Jr., Florida State 4.78
Top Vertical: Lache Seastrunck, Baylor 41.5"
Top Broad Jump: Lache Seastrunck, Baylor 11'2"
Top 3-Cone Drill: Bishop Sankey, Washington 6.75
Top Bench Press (225 lb.):  Jerrick McKinnon, Georgia Southern 32 reps
Notes: Dri Archer (Kent State) actually had his official 40 time come in faster than his hand-timed 40. His official time was 4.26. He also looked very smooth in all of the running back drills. I thought Bishop Sankey (Washington) had a great day, both in running and receiving. Andre Williams (Boston College) looked very unnatural catching the football. He caught zero passes this season, and barely caught any passes today. He is a gifted runner, but this will hurt his stock. James Wilder (Florida State) looked slow and he ran slow. Carlos Hyde (Ohio State) pulled up after running his 40, and sat out the rest of the drills. Ka'Deem Carey (Arizona) was not very good in the receiving drills. Jerrick McKinnon (Georgia Southern) was this year's workout warrior. He ran a 4.35 40-yard dash, did 32 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, had a 40 1/2" vertical, and had a broad jump of 11 feet. Even with all of this, McKinnon as a RB prospect does nothing for me. He will likely be drafted at some point, but I would not pull the trigger.
WIDE RECEIVERS GROUP ONE:
Fastest 40-yard dash: Tie; Brandin Cooks, Oregon State & John Brown, Pittsburg State 4.30
Slowest 40-yard dash: Chris Boyd, Vanderbilt 4.60
Top Vertical: Damian Copeland, Louisvile 40"
Top Broad Jump: Bennie Fowler, Michigan State 10'6"
Top 3-Cone Drill:  Damian Copeland, Louisvile 6.53
Top Bench Press (225 lb.): Brandon Coleman, Rutgers 21 reps
Notes: I didn't see much of this group, but what I did see I came away the most impressed with Brandin Cooks (Oregon State), Bruce Ellington (South Carolina), and Mike Evans (Texas A&M). I thought Ryan Grant (Tulane) struggled a bit.
WIDE RECEIVERS GROUP TWO:
Fastest 40-yard dash: Jeff Janis, Saginaw Valley State 4.30
Slowest 40-yard dash: Jarvis Landry, LSU 4.65
Top Vertical: Tevin Reese, Baylor 41"
Top Broad Jump: Donte Moncrief, Mississippi 11'0"
Top 3-Cone Drill: Tevin Reese, Baylor 6.63
Top Bench Press (225 lb.):  Cody Latimer, Indiana 23 reps
Notes: Allen Robinson really had a down day. I wasn't the highest on him to begin with, but he ran in the 4.6 range, and looked sluggish in the pass drills. My initial take on Paul Richardson (Colorado) was that he needed to eat a hamburger, like immediately. He was solid doing everything, but his frame scares me. Donte Moncrief (Mississippi) tested through the roof, and ran the drills really well. Jordan Matthews (Vanderbilt), timed a lot faster than I thought he would. I was a little down on him after the Senior Bowl, but his 4.40 forty-yard dash was a nice bounce back. I am still not sure why Walt Powell (Murray State) was invited to the combine. He struggled in all of his route running, and timed in the 4.6 range.

DEFENSIVE LINE GROUP ONE:
Fastest 40-yard dash: Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina 4.47
Slowest 40-yard dash: Ryan Carrethers, Arkansas State 5.44
Fastest 10-yard split: Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina 1.56
Slowest 10-yard split: Justin Ellis, Louisiana Tech 1.88
Top Broad Jump: Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina 10'7"
Top Vertical:Howard Jones, Sheppard 40 1/2"
Top 3-Cone Drill: Kony Ealy, Missouri 6.83
Top Bench Press (225 lb.): Aaron Donald, Pittsburgh 35 reps
Notes: Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina) sat out the field drills today, but he participated in all of the measurable tests. Dee Ford (Auburn/back injury), Ego Ferguson (LSU/ankle), and Aaron Lynch (South Florida/hamstring) sat out all of the workouts. In the outside linebacker conversion drills, jackson jeffcoat (Texas) looked really stiff. He even had to start a drill over. Demarcus Lawrence (Boise State) looking really comfortable turning and dropping into coverage.Aaron Donald (Pittsburgh) turned in a great workout today. He ran a 4.65 40, did 35 reps on the bench, and broad jumped 9'8". He also looked exceptionally quick in the field drills.
DEFENSIVE LINE GROUP TWO:
Fastest 40-yard dash: Chris Smith, Arkansas 4.54
Slowest 40-yard dash: Will Sutton, Arizona State 5.37
Fastest 10-yard split: Kareem Martin, North Carolina 1.53
Slowest 10-yard split: Louis Nix, Notre Dame 1.85
Top Broad Jump: Kareem Martin, North Carolina 10'9"
Top Vertical:Chris Smith, Arkansas 37"
Top 3-Cone Drill:Larry Webster, Bloomsburg 7.29
Top Bench Press (225 lb.): Kaleb Ramsey, Boston College 36 reps
