ANALYSIS: Baltimore set a common draft record with five picks in the 4th round. None were better than their selection of Kenneth Dixon. His all-around skill set makes him the best back on their roster day one. Ronnie Stanley should be manning the left side of their offensive line for the foreseeable future. His off the field cleanliness made him the easy choice over Laremy Tunsil. Kamalei Correa and Bronson Kaufusi offer some pass rush upside. Tavon Young and Maurice Canady are solid corners, who should provide quality depth to a position that desperately needs it. Keenan Reynolds is a great story. He can provide special teams help and some gadgetry. Undrafted OLB Victor Ochi can make the team as a pass rush specialist. The Ravens draft ranked #17 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: Cincinnati is never one to get too splashy in the draft and this year was no exception. They were the only team to only use their original selection in each round. William Jackson has the best ball skills of any corner in the draft. Tyler Boyd should replace Mohammed Sanu in the slot. Nick Vigil was the biggest reach in the draft for this team. He is probably special teams only for one or two years. Andrew Billings was my #2 rated defensive tackle. He should replace Domata Peko after this season as the starting nose guard. Christian Westerman is a physical guard prospect, who should be able to back up all 3 interior line spots. He may even be able to push Russell Bodine to be the starting center. Cody Core is the lesser known of the Ole Miss receivers, but he was very productive. He is the likely favorite to be the #4 receiver. Undrafted Lawrence Thomas fits the Bengals mold of a defensive end. He is a longshot to make the 53 man roster, but should be on the practice squad. The Bengals draft ranked as the best in the league this year according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: Cleveland nearly set a record for most draft picks in a single draft. Based on my board, they got a lot of quantity, but lack a lot of quality. According to friend of DFD, Pete Smith of NFL Spin Zone, Hue Jackson may be installing a form of the Baylor offense. If that is the case some of these picks make more sense. Corey Coleman is dynamite with the ball in his hands. He runs a limited route tree, but the ones he does run, he runs very well. Emmanuel Ogbah was a productive pass rusher in college, but he has a limited amount of pass rush moves. Carl Nassib is a former walk-on who didn’t start until his senior season. He is probably at his ceiling as far as potential, but he can still be very productive. Shon Coleman is another great story. He is a cancer survivor. He has a chance to start at right tackle. Cody Kessler was a big reach in the 3rd round. Kessler lacks arm strength and is not very athletic. Ricardo Louis was a gadget player at Auburn and I don’t expect he will much more than that in the NFL. Rashard Higgins and Jordan Payton should be able to produce in some capacity in the offense this season. Spencer Drango was a tackle at Baylor, but his athletic profile tells me he should be playing guard. Scooby Wright was very productive at Arizona, but his injury history and low testing numbers make it an uphill climb. I had 75 corners ranked coming into this draft, Trey Caldwell was not one of them. The Browns draft ranked #29 in the league this year according to the DFD value board. Their average pick value however ranked #20.

ANALYSIS: Pittsburgh’s first two picks were big reaches, but they had a great draft after that. The Bengals likely took the guy they wanted in round one, so they settled on Artie Burns. Sean Davis is a hybrid corner/safety. A lot of draft analysts liked him more than I did. Javon Hargrave is a load in the middle. He provides more pass rush upside than your typical nose tackle. Jerald Hawkins has starting potential at tackle down the road. Travis Feeney is an athletic linebacker prospect that should upgrade all of their special teams units. The same can be said for Tyler Matakevich, minus the athletic part. The Steelers draft ranked #10 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.
