ANALYSIS: Chicago traded up in the first round to draft a physical freak with Leonard Floyd. Floyd was however a perennial underachiever at Georgia. Cody Whitehair is an immediate plug-and-play guy at left guard. Jonathan Bullard should provide some pass rush help. Jordan Howard will help offset some of the loss incurred by losing Matt Forte. Deiondre’ Hall has the potential to start in the near future. He is a trash talker on the field, but he backs it up. Deandre Houston-Carson will have a longer career in the league than Deon Bush, in my opinion. Daniel Braverman was very productive at WMU and can carve himself out a nice career in the slot. I would not be surprised to one or both of Kevin Peterson and Taveze Calhoun make the roster. The Bears draft ranked #23 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: Outside of their first two picks, there wasn’t much to like with the Detroit draft. Taylor Decker is the immediate starter at right tackle, and it wouldn’t surprise me if he supplanted Riley Reiff on the left side eventually. It would not have been surprising to see them take A’Shawn Robinson in the first round. Good value to get Haloti Ngata’s replacement in the 2nd round. Graham Glasgow and Miles Killebrew are solid players, but both were reaches where they were selected. Joe Dahl can provide depth at four different line spots. I would be surprised if Jake Rudock was on the opening day roster. He may be on the practice squad…maybe. I would not be surprised however if Jay Lee made the opening day 53. I am not sure why any team would ever draft a long snapper, but here we are. Dwayne Washington does not look like an upgrade to me over any back they currently have in camp. The Lions draft ranked #27 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: Green Bay had a solid draft going in the first couple of days, but it went south after that. Kenny Clark is an upgrade up front for them. He has nice pass rushing ability for a 300+pounder. Jason Spriggs is probably the most athletic offensive tackle in this draft class, and will likely be starting sooner rather than later. Kyler Fackrell has ability to rush of the edge. Blake Martinez should provide depth at ILB and special teams help. The Packers draft ranked #22 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: With Laquon Treadwell, the Vikings finally have a true #1 WR target for Teddy Bridgewater. Mackenzie Alexander was a lockdown corner at Clemson, but he never intercepted a single pass. Willie Beavers will likely have to play guard in the NFL. Kentrell Brothers is a nice depth pickup, but unless Eric Kendricks leaves/gets hurt, he likely will not ever start here. Jayron Kearse is a big free safety, who lacks change of direction. Mike Zimmer likes guys like this, so he will get his chances. Moritz Boehringer is a great story. He is the first European football player ever drafted. His game film looks like some bad Alabama high school football tape, but he tested off the charts. He is a definitely a lottery ticket type of player. TheVikings draft ranked #6 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.
