ANALYSIS: Dallas drafted the best RB in the draft and the odds on favorite to be Rookie of the Year with Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott is a three down back with power and breakaway speed. Jaylon Smith was a top 5 player in this draft until he tore his knee up during his team’s bowl game. Smith will likely need all of 2016 to recover. This is a tremendous risk versus reward pick. Maliek Collins should push for playing time early. Charles Tapper will likely have to play early since both of their starting defensive ends are suspended for the first four games. Dak Prescott landed in a perfect situation. He can sit for two years and learn behind Tony Romo and possibly develop into a long term starter. I was not a huge fan of either of the two DB’s drafted. Rico Gathers is interesting. He was a power forward at Baylor. He hasn’t played football since he was in 8th grade. He is someone to keep an eye on going forward. The Cowboys draft ranked #18 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: The Giants drafting Eli Apple was weird for many reasons. He was considered at best a second round pick by most analysts. They already have Domonique Rodgers-Cromartie and just signed Janoris Jenkins to a huge free agent deal. Tenth overall seems high for a nickel back. Sterling Shepard should give them everything a healthy Victor Cruz use to. Darian Thompson has a chance to start at safety this season. Jerell Adams was our #1 TE in this draft and I have no idea how he was available in the 6th. Adams should easily be their best TE on the roster. Paul Perkins will have to fight for scraps in this backfield. Roger Lewis has a troubled past, but he should be able to make the team as a 4th/5th WR. The Giants draft ranked #13 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: Philadelphia traded the farm to move up to draft Carson Wentz. If it works out, great! If not, you have set the franchise back. No big deal, right? Wentz has a big arm and is quite mobile. It may take some time to adjust. Depending on if Sam Bradford decides to quit being a baby, he may be afforded that time. Isaac Seumalo and Hala Vaitai should provide quality depth early on. Jalen Mills was one of our top corners in the draft. I am not sure if he had medical concerns or not, but I firmly believe he will have a chance to be a starter down the road. I believe the same about Alex McCalister. The Eagles draft ranked #11 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: Washington drafted for the future when they selected Josh Doctson. Pierre Garcon and Desean Jackson are getting up there in age. Doctson was the best receiver in this draft with the ball in the air. He immediately upgrades them in the red zone. Su’a Cravens is the new breed of linebacker/safety hybrid that Arizona made popular with Deonne Buchanan. Kendall Fuller is a first round talent, but is coming off a knee injury. Matt Ioannidis is a gritty defender who should help upgrade their defense. Keith Marshall is the big play RB they don’t currently have on the roster. The Redskins draft ranked #7 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.
