ANALYSIS: Denver made a smart choice to trade up in the first round to acquire DFD #1 ranked QB Paxton Lynch. Lynch possesses all of the physical tools needed to play the position in the NFL. He may need a season to transition, but after that, the sky is the limit. Devontae Booker, when healthy, is the best back on this roster. Justin Simmons is a rangy safety that has the chance to be a starter down the road. I am sure they see something in 2nd round pick Adam Gotsis, but I did not have a draftable grade on him. He was one of four selections that I did not see getting drafted. Undrafted WR Bralon Addison has a chance to make it as a return man. The Broncos draft ranked #26 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: Kansas City did a whole lot of reaching. Chris Jones should start this season at the 5-tech spot. He has pass rush upside. KeiVarae Russell is a solid corner prospect. Parker Ehinger was undersized for most of college career, He will need to maintain weight to have success. Demarcus Robinson was in trouble at Florida on at least four occasions. He has second round skills with an undrafted character. At least he didn’t beat his pregnant girlfriend like 5th round pick Tyreek Hill. Hill was arrested in December 2014 for that act and was subsequently kicked out of Oklahoma State. He landed at D-II West Alabama. Kevin Hogan is a heady QB who lacks big time arm strength. Dadi Nicolas has a chance to contribute as a pass rusher. The Chiefs draft ranked #31 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: Oakland reached in the first couple of rounds, but got great value later. Karl Joseph is a rangy safety who will lay the hammer down. He is coming off a knee injury, which is why his ranking is a little lower. Jihad Ward is a big strong defensive end, who will probably kick inside on third down. He never really produced at Illinois, but he had a good Senior Bowl week. Shilique Calhoun however produced a great deal at MSU. I think Oakland is going to try to stand him up, but he is better suited with his hand in the dirt. Connor Cook slipped from being a potential 1st round pick to pick 100. Cook was very good in is Spartan career, but passed on playing in the Senior Bowl. Teams also questioned why he wasn’t a team captain. He has a chance to develop as a backup QB, with potential to perhaps be traded for a better draft pick down the road. DeAndre Washington is a shifty change of pace back. He can also help in the passing game. I had a high second round grade on Vadal Alexander. He has played tackle and guard at LSU, and is a road grader. He can back up 4 of the 5 positions on the offensive line. I also think Denver Kirkland can make it as a reserve lineman. The Raiders draft ranked #4 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.

ANALYSIS: San Diego surprised everyone on draft day when they selected Joey Bosa with the 3rd pick. It looks like he will start at OLB for the time being. Hunter Henry was considered by most to be the #1 TE prospect in this draft (#2 for me). He will be the heir apparent to Antonio Gates. Max Tuerk will battle for the starting center job with Chris Wells. Josh Perry will help on special teams from day one and can back up all four LB spots. Jatavis Brown is an undersized backer who plays like a mad man. He is at the very least a special teams upgrade. I like the potential to develop down the road for undrafted OT Tyler Johnstone. The Chargers draft ranked #14 in the league this year according to the DFD value board.
